DMG calc THEORY by Ariquerex

DMG calc THEORY by Ariquerex

I on the basis of numerous tests tend to the following theory:

All Resistance includes All Elemental Resistance, Physical Resistance and Magical Resistance

3 types of Dmg is
-Not Elemental (Physic, Magical)
-Elemental (Fire, Ice, Thunder, Umbra-Dark)
-Extra

4 types of Def is
-Physical Resistance and Magical Resistance - relative value expressed as% its anti-NotElementalDmg (Physic, Magical)
-All Elemental Resistance - relative value expressed as% its anti-ElementalDmg (Fire, Ice, Thunder, Umbra-Dark)
-DmgAbsorbtion - anti-ExtraDmg (if u DmgAbsorbtion> enemy ExtraDmg then residue is simple Def)
-Physical Defence and Magical Defence - absolute value which is subtracted at the end. What type of Def are used is depending on the type of attack abilities (Physical or Magical)

<Taken damage> = <EnemyNoElementDMG> * (1 - <PhysRes | MagRes>) + <EnemyElementDMG> * (1 - <Elemental Resist>) +
                      + (<EnemyExtraDmg> - <DmgAbsorbtion>) - <PDef | MDef>

The <PhysRes | MagRes> is relative values and changing how your character's level increases.

<PhysRes | MagRes> = ALLResistance / MaxOnLvALLResistance

MaxOnLvALLResistance - the value of which increases from level to level
Ima calculated approximate values of these quantities

65 10633 ~10600
66 11167
67 11727
68 12313
69 12925
70 13563
71 14227
72 14917
73 15633
74 16375
75 17143
76 17937
77 18757
78 19603
79 20475
80 21373 ~21200

How to use it?
For example the amount ALLResistance on FD 5300
This means that the

FD lv65 <PhysRes | MagRes> = 5300/10600 = 50%

Ie half not elemental damage bounces resistance, and deducted PDEF or MDEF determ the type of attack

Surprisingly this figure melts ice and FD 80 at the same 5300 ALLResistance, discourage only 25% of the damage as

FD lv80 <PhysRes | MagRes> = 5300/21200 = 25%

The most unfair thing is that considered only the level of your DS, and not level enemy whose damage you get

Ie your FD next level up - to get more damage from one and the same mob, rather than just getting, when level was smaller. Even taking into account that for the next level defense it threw 100-200.

Here is such an unpleasant fact!

But there are positive aspects that take into account the level and your enemy, I belive that chance changes depending on lvs difference and it is:
- Success casting debuffs
- Unsuccess casting debuffs on u
- Hit
- Dodge
- Crit
- Breach
- Penetration

When u try killing high lv BOSS I think u have penalty on that parameters, coz u lv smaller. And that penalty decreased with each u lvup and u match power incraise.

Skill Initial Attack Dmg

TypeAttack is Physical\Magic
TypeDmg is Physical\Magic\Fire\Thunder\Ice\Umbra

[SkillDamage] Deals 1000 TypeDmg and increases caster's  TypeAttack by 100%
I think its equal
[SkillDamage] Deals (1000 + TypeAttack * 100%) TypeDmg

[SkillAttributes] - allows to calculate the skillattack in elements section
SkillAttributes Physical\Magic is no released elements, and its mean all four elements

If [SkillAttributes] Physical\Magic then SkillAttack= SkillDamage + (FireDmg+IceDmg+ThunderDmg+UmbraDmg)/4+ExtraDmg
If [SkillAttributes] Fire,Ice then SkillAttack= SkillDamage + (FireDmg+IceDmg)/2+ExtraDmg
If [SkillAttributes] Umbra then SkillAttack= SkillDamage + UmbraDmg+ExtraDmg

U can see that any SkillAttack consist of 3 parts!
SkillDamage - its resist by TypeDmg Resist
SkillElementalDmg - its resist by ElementalResist
ExtraDmg- its resist by DmgAbsorbtion
And in end deduct TypeAttack Defence!

Example1

SkillAttack = SkillDamage + ( Umbra + Thunder)/2+ExtraDmg

Magic Attack = 17125+(1250+2540+3880+4040)/4+200=20252.5
[SkillDamage] Deals (2300 + Magic Attack * 60%) Magic Damage
[SkillDamage] (2300 + 20252.5 * 60%)  = 14451.5
[SkillDamage] 14451.5 Magic Damage

[SkillAttributes] Umbra, Thunder
Umbra/2 + Thunder/2 = 4040/2+3880/2= 2020 Umbra Damage + 1940 Thunder Damage

SkillAttack = 14451.5 Magic Damage + 2020 Umbra Damage + 1940 Thunder Damage + 200 Extra Damage

VS Enemy protection

<Taken damage> = <EnemyNoElementDMG> * (1 - <PhysRes | MagRes>) + <EnemyElementDMG> * (1 - <Elemental Resist>) +
                      + (<EnemyExtraDmg> - <DmgAbsorbtion>) - <PDef | MDef>

Taken damage = 14451.5 Magic Damage * (1 - MagRes) + 2020 Umbra Damage * (1 - UmbraResist) + 1940 Thunder Damage * (1 - ThunderResist)  + (200 - DmgAbsorbtion)  - MDef

Example2

SkillAttack = SkillDamage + ( Fire + Ice + Umbra + Thunder)/4 + ExtraDmg

Physical Attack = 38423 + (3558+3800+4150+3650)/4 + 5411 = 47623.5

[SkillDamage] Deals (1200 + Physical Attack * 200%) Physical Damage
[SkillDamage] (1200 + 47623.5 * 200%)  = 96447
[SkillDamage] 96447 Physical Damage

[SkillAttributes] Physical = Fire , Ice , Thunder , Umbra
( Fire + Ice + Umbra + Thunder)/4= (3558+3800+4150+3650)/4 = 889.5 FireDmg + 950 IceDmg + 1037.5 ThunderDmg + 912.5 UmbraDmg

SkillAttack = 96447 Physical Damage + 889.5 FireDmg + 950 IceDmg + 1037.5 ThunderDmg + 912.5 UmbraDmg + 5411 ExtraDmg

But If Use:
Passives Lion'sCelerity5, Deadlyassault4, PureMind4 And
Actives Jordan4+Jordan4+DemonRoar3+Ultima (On WorldBoss set)
Lion'sCelerity5=20%+20%=+40% Physical Damage
Jordan4=+30% Physical Damage
DemonRoar3= + 120% Physical Damage
Deadlyassault4=Passive SoulSlash30% Each hit->AllRes -24%
PureMind4= -25% Defense

[SkillDamage] (1200 + 47623.5 * 390%)  = 186931.65 Physical Damage
SkillAttack =  186931.65 Physical Damage + 889.5 FireDmg + 950 IceDmg + 1037.5 ThunderDmg + 912.5 UmbraDmg + 5411 ExtraDmg

VS Enemy protection
Taken damage = 186931.65 Physical Damage * (1- PhysRes*0.76) + 889.5 FireDmg * (1- FireResist*0.76) + 950 IceDmg * (1- IceResist*0.76) + 1037.5 Thunder Damage * (1- ThunderResist*0.76) + 912.5 Umbra Damage * (1- UmbraResist*0.76) + (5411 - DmgAbsorbtion) - PDef*0.75

My FD lv76 have AllRes 6195,PDef 21598, DmgAbsorbtion=381, FireRes=43%, IceResist=45%, ThunderResist=75%, Dark=46%
On lv76 PhysRes=6195/17937=34.5%
Taken damage = 186931.65 * (1- 0.345*0.76) + 889.5 * (1- 0.43*0.76) + 950 * (1- 0.45*0.76) + 1037.5  * (1- 0.75*0.76) + 912.5  * (1- 0.46*0.76) + (5411 - 381) - 21598*0.75 = 137918 + 599 + 625 + 446 + 593 + 5030 - 16199 = 129012
FD defeated in 1 strike! And that taked DMG calc excluding effect of essences (like Ignore res) of my main...

Example3

SkillAttack = SkillDamage + ( Fire + Ice + Umbra + Thunder)/4 + ExtraDmg

Physical Attack = 39429 + (4610+2540+2200+2308)/4 +189= 42532.5

[SkillDamage] Deals (1600+ Physical Attack * 135%) Fire Damage
[SkillDamage] (1600 + 42532.5 * 135%)  = 59019
[SkillDamage] 59019 Fire Damage

[SkillAttributes] Physical = Fire , Ice , Thunder , Umbra
( Fire + Ice + Umbra + Thunder)/4= (4610+2540+2200+2308)/4 = 1152.5 FireDmg + 635 IceDmg + 550 ThunderDmg + 577 UmbraDmg

SkillAttack = 60171.5 FireDmg + 635 IceDmg + 550 ThunderDmg + 577 UmbraDmg + 189 ExtraDmg

VS Enemy protection
Taken damage = 60171.5 FireDmg * (1- FireResist) + 635 IceDmg * (1- IceResist) + 550 * Thunder Damage * (1- ThunderResist) + 577  Umbra Damage * (1- UmbraResist) + (189 - DmgAbsorbtion) - PDef
if allElementalRes is 75% then
Taken damage = 60171.5 FireDmg * 0.25 + 635*0.25 + 550 * 0.25 + 577*0.25 + 189 - DmgAbsorbtion - PDef = 15672 - DmgAbsorbtion - PDef
If enemy PDef ~ 15500 DMG -> 0, But skill looks geat! 135% + 1600, and Physical Attack = 42532.5 not bad, but DMG is ZERO!!!

Conclusion: on this basis it can be argued that the skills with physical and magic damage efficiently than elemental damage skills, since the physical and magic resistance is always much less elemental. Therefore, the BEST PVP main character is a Samurai, best DS is Bumbl. Their skills are applied to physical and magical damage respectively! Other skills with elemental damage are less effective as easily extinguished elemental resistance! Try learn for u DS non-elemental skill, for great dmg!

Thanx for u attention! x)

This theory has a right to live, but there is one but.
By simply leveling and apparently outleveling a target makes you deal increased damage to it and receive decreased damage from it even if none of you other statistics rise, I mean you intentionally don't upgrade anything you wear or your skills, you just level higher and get small bonuses from levelups.

There should be something like that, your theory doesn't consider it, but it exists.

There's also the fact some mobs do carry the Elemental Penetration passive like the ones in Abyssal Trials 18-3+. I've added resists to my main tank on a attempt to finish it way back but they did the same damage.
Feel free to join Raid Call if you need any help at all for IL:Group # 7913555

Reply 2 # post

Sequestor, in my 1st post, I describe the situation is exactly the opposite. Try it yourself, u can easy to see it if u LV75+:

1. wait while u have less than 10kk to lv up and some vigor
2. recruit Imp
3. set u formation only Main and Imp
4. set on Imp amulet from u main, and look at All Elemental Resistance and Def
5. Choose PVE enemy, which beat u Imp only one skill
(for good expiriment dmg to Imp must be highest as u can find with small dmg scatter)
6. Wait when Imp die then give up.
7. Testing several times and write dmg on u Imp
(Dmg must be same - range +-50, if range more then find another mob, coz u cant calc true avg value if dmg scatter high)
8. Calc avg Dmg value to Imp on that LV (Imp in amulet from main)
9. Lv up in main inctances, and look that Def u Imp is growth, but All Elemental Resistance is decreased!
10. Return to u testing for next several times
11. Calc avg Dmg value to Imp after LV up (Imp in amulet from main)
12. Compare 2 avg result.

U wiil be in shock, coz second value is greater!!!

I don't know, maybe it works for some low-def def tests, but simply leveling makes your life easier with bosses which you couldn't defeat before.
There is a boss named Thunder Giant in DC, I removed all my servants except FD and myself, because everything else died really fast.
I don't remember what was my level when I first met him, probably it was somewhere near 70, but he was simply destroying me.
Each next level I was taking, I returned to him and tried to kill, and it was easier and easier, though nothing changed in my equipment and skills, I didn't change essences or upgrade totems (was saving them).
In a few more levels without any other changes I passed this stage.
I don't know whats with your formula, but leveling makes it easier.

I think that you both may be right.

Most if not all % stats are determined by +x to the stat. you can easily see that crit breach and pen reduces on level up. You need to have more +x to have same % effectiveness on higher level.

However, upon lvl up , even you didnt change anything, a lot of stuff changes. Your hero gets stats from your training skills and passive abilities and over the course of leveling time passes and you get levels in talent trees all of which makes your hero stronger.

There is also another factor that im not 100% how it works exactly that is level difference between you and opponent. For example, my hero needs to overcap the dodge by 30% to be able to achieve 70% that is shown on my character screen when fighting mobs 10 level higher.  (maybe MaxOnLevel stat depends on opponent level too, or maybe % shown on your character screen is only representation of value of the stat when fighting same level mob and thats why all % get lower with level)

If you assume that every mob has some ignore all res like xeno suggested then it makes sense that on higher level mobs that have more ignore all res you need more resists to achieve same % resist (then stats visible on screen only show true values for same level mob)

Sequestor, naturally every level of killing bosses easier, since you have changed% of all parameters that depend on the difference in levels.
So increased all (or rather reduced penalty and setting comes into its norm)
HIT,
DODGE,
CRIT,
BREACH,
PENETRATION,
SUCSSES DEBUFF U,
UNSUCCSES DEBUFF BOSS

But Physical Resistance, Magical Resistanse and Elemental Resistance decreases with each level, and you will not notice unless specifically never shalt not carry out tests, or even be paying attention to the elemental resistance, which specifically reduces each level. Just pay attention to it and peace will reign in your heart))

I think i know answer for your lvl up, lower stats problems.
You checked your settings on clean DS fresh recriuted, and most Players use DS with skills.

Skills bonus from lvlup give more that he lose.

Just finished reading through the aforementioned matches the equations I had been working on. Since I started my third character. Good work
